| someone should seriously hurry up & invent some sort of teleportation device: gas prices are ridiculous & itll be a quicker way to get away from LA...
so my goal for august is to do both the nike run (http://nikeplus.nike.com/nikeplus) & the uncover the cure (www.uncoverthecure.org) one as well...i dont even know why im participating! i HATE running!! its such a dread to me...i dont even run fast, but it gives me an excuse to exercise & it is a good feeling to help out an important cause. i dont even have a plan of how im going to train for this...i have about a month...3 miles already killed me, i dont know how im going to handle 6 miles....

i thought it was during the wintertime when your hunger is greater, but i guess thats not the case! i constantly think about food all day when im working! dude...like right now, im thinking about red velvet cake because i saw a picture of it in one of my friend's picture album....

its from doughboys...i wanna give it a try!!! *droolz*
[ on repeat ]
why does tonite, have to end?
why don't we hit restart,
and pause it at our favorite parts.
we'll skip the goodbyes.
if i had it my way,
i'd turn the car around and runaway,
just you and i.

"The greatest regrets in our lives are the risks we did not take. If you think something will make you happy, GO FOR IT! Remember that we pass
this way only once."
it was my favorite quote 8 years ago & it still is until this very day...

| im so bummed out that the Billabong: Design for Humanity tickets are sold out! uggghh...but its cool, ill catch MGMT whenever theyre back in LA again.
O-M-G....im so in love with the new Duffy album::.

she's an amazing singer & her songs take you on a trip down to that motown era when "the supremes" were big. i simply love it. another amy winehouse perhaps...but duffy definitely has a cleaner image haha no offense amy...
[ TOP 5 SONGS ON MY ITUNES FOR JUNE ] (no particular order)
1. duffy// warwick avenue 2. m83// we own the sky 3. islands// the arm 4. coldplay// viva la vida 5. weezer// angel and the one
-----------------------------------------
everything is pretty much set for skydiving in june. i dont think its really going to hit me until im up on that plane. lets all hope/pray ill come back in one piece ^_^
so i didnt end up going to the culver city artwalk this weekend...but i played racquetball for 3 hours straight haha it was my second time & i got better already! YESSSS! the first time playing was such a disaster!!! but yah that sport is so frickin addicting...oh & i went back to that one archery class again. i still suck, but i got a few bullseyes =) next thing i really want to try is rockclimbing. ill try the indoor one first before i do the outdoor one.
has anyone ever taken a yoga class before? i tried it once last year & i thought it was so BORING! all you do is close your eyes & breathe! hmmm...maybe i just had a bad teacher haha but yah im going to try to give it a second try this weekend because they have some sort of an open house event in pasadena...ill probably take my mom because shes super lazy when it comes to exercising & stuff haha i think this will be good for her. if i end up liking yoga...ill probably invest in a mat & maybe a few classes. supposedly i heard if you do it for a long period of time, itll reshape your body...*shrugs* who knows...
my goal for this summer is to get better at swimming...actually to learn how to swim in general LOL i dont remember the last time i went swimming...it was years ago & its kind of embarrassing that i still dont know how to tread water...if i do get better at swimming im going to try to overcome my fear & boogie board at the beach. i had a HORRIBLE experience boogie boarding 5 years ago...& if things go well i want to try to surf! hey as long as my body is attached to something that floats then its all good!! itll be awesome to go jetskiing this summer also =)
me & my friends are going to venice beach this weekend to go rollerblading & cycling. im so excited! i love venice beach! & i miss rollerblading =)
ok yah thats it. back to work

| i havent been to the movie theaters since january! isnt that crazy? but i dont find the need to ever since i got my blockbuster online membership. its so much better than paying 10$+ at the theaters...but anyway tonight i will be watching "indiana jones" @ the paramount theater for free. right before that, me & my friend are going to try out this 1 ice cream joint. this ice cream parlor makes up their own flavors & "supposedly" is a lot better than 21 choices. hmmm...something better than 21 choices...is that even possible? by the way....i just found out about this place where you get to watch movie @ a graveyard!! how frickin neat is that! i definitely want to check it out:: www.cinespia.org
tomorrow:: archery in the morning & the culver city artwalk in the afternoon.

ive never been there, but i heard good things about it. then later at night ill be @ a reunion with my co-workers from golden vision-the optometry office i used to work for. theyre 1 of the coolest co-workers ever. i miss those days...training first time contact users...getting to use those machines where i shoot air into people's eyes; i miss getting free eye exams & also trying on frames/sunglasses to kill time....speaking of frames...i want to go back there & find a pair of really thick/nerdy frames because....hmmm...just because.
sunday:: its my parents 30th anniversary! wowzers. props to mom & pops for putting up with each other for that long. on a serious note though. they are a very cute/loving couple. my friend asked me to go take this salsa dancing class during the evening. that should be interesting...

sucks that its on a wednesday night, but im still going! fashion show w/ MGMT & dj steve aoki?!?! are you kidding me, i have to be there. i heard MGMT are great live performers!! im totally stoked.
ive been putting "islands" on repeat recently-

check out that album cover!! its sooo awesomeee. & yah the band itself is awesome too. another group worth listening to is "this is ivy league". very unique & it has that tropical/beach feel to their music so its great for the summer time =)

| so its that time again...the nordstrom's half-yearly sale. woke up @ 630am yesterday morning to do some speedy shopping from 7am-830am right before work. yes im crazy...but i cant help but brag that i got so many good deals!! got 2 pairs of jeans: 7s & true religions 80$ each. ok honestly i was never a brand name jean fan...it just recently happened when i went to the rock & republic sample sale in november. it was my 1st time purchasing a pair of jeans which normally at retail price costs around $250 + up. they were 80$ each at the sample sale & the skirts w/ embellishments & rhinestones were 50$. great deal right? after waiting of 3 hours it better be worth it!! and i cant tell you how satisfied i am with those r&r jeans i got that day & with the ones i purchased yesterday! i used to think people were crazy to pay so much for jeans, but seriously they fit really good & the denim quality is great. at first when i tried on my r&r's, it was a bit tight, but now theyre stretching out a bit which is good...im not sure if that usually happens as you wear them more or maybe my waistline got smaller?? (let's hope so). ok anyway...i just get so ecstatic when i buy nice things for cheap! so that was my splurge yesterday...i probably wont shop until next month when i go to vegas. although i still need to use my gift cards & i reallyyyyy want to go check out the "americana" on brand. they got a bunch of my favorite stores there!!
here's my belief...you were born with a body, decorate it the way you want it!
want to find out how to achieve & copy "the LENA look"...haha im just playing...this is just a list of my favorite places to go to shop (in no particular order)::.
[ 1 ] urban outfitters [ 2 ] h&m [ 3 ] forever 21 & wet seal (theyre almost the same thing) [ 4 ] metropark [ 5 ] buffalo exhange in melrose & the lab in costa mesa [ 6 ] the closet in santa monica [ 7 ] crossroads tradng co. & wasteland in santa monica [ 8 ] jet rag (great $1 sales on sundays!) [ 9 ] rose bowl flea market (perfect place if you loveeee vintage clothes, shoes, & jewelry & etc., but bring cash!) [ 10 ] haight & ashbury st. in san francisco
